Our Vision

In our Linby community, everyone – both adults and children, know that they are valued as God’s children.  Their gifts are discovered, valued and nurtured so that all can flourish. The way we treat one another is key to the heart of Linby and impacts all we do. Our vision is rooted in the Bible and was chosen by the school community.

“May love and kindness be the motivation behind everything we do”. 1 Cor 16:14

Our Mission Statement

At Linby, our mission is to ‘Love Life, Love Learning and Grow in Faith.’ We do this by providing an enriching, exceptional learning experience, where our children are the starting point and the beating heartbeat of the school.

As we are all children of God, we believe deeply in the value of each individual.  We strive to enable our pupils to develop as a whole person, recognising that each has a valuable contribution to make to the school community, happy and ready to take the next steps into their education and lives beyond Primary School.

Our school values guide our curriculum.

Our curriculum fulfils the requirements of the National Curriculum and is designed to:

  • develop a sense of awe and wonder;
  • inspire the passions and interests of the children ;
  • raise self-esteem and self-belief;
  • foster strong communication skills;
  • focus on relationships;
  • encourage stewardship of our world;
  • offer valuable and varied experiences.

To achieve this we base our thematic curriculum on quality texts and teach the curriculum in a way that means every child can grow in confidence, unlocking vital skills that will drive their creativity. We believe that as part of a spiritual, cultural and creative curriculum, every child should be given the opportunity to:

  • be inspired,
  • know, understand,
  • experiment,
  • engage,
  • celebrate
  • have a voice
  • be curious
  • nurture

We are very clear that a curriculum that develops the Fruit of the Spirit (love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, humility and self-control) helps to develop rounded individuals. We also want to ensure that all the children know that they are learners, by becoming problem-solvers, playing with what they know and taking risks, exploring, concentrating and being involved, developing resilience and perseverance, enjoying learning, having their own ideas, making links and working with ideas. We call this loving life, loving learning and growing in faith.
